Dual-Stage Pivot System. This revolutionary new system is patented and exclusive to Gaerne and is sure to be a hit. The first pivot is attached to the "Razorback." This provides a rigid component that offers strong lateral support, while a sliding plate holds the upper in a firm, upright position.

The second pin is fixed on a sliding guide that allows the rider's foot to feel natural while on the footpeg during shifting or braking. However, it "stops" and absorbs shock in the event of excessive jumping or unwanted compression.

Grip Guard--On the inside of the boot is the all-new rubber "Grip Guard." You can feel the bike's exceptional grip, plus it provides heat-resistant padding against your inner leg.

Front Plate/Shin Guard--This new thermoplastic shin plate is anatomically contoured for a perfect fit. By removing three screws, a rider can also widen the opening to accommodate a larger leg or knee brace.

Buckle System--The SG-12 uses four lightweight alloy buckles that attach to an adjustable strap. This is a "tried and true" system that provides the rider with an "Easy-in" and "Easy-out" system without fail. Keeping it simple!

Gaiter - Made from a new breathable Swiss fabric called Acronos, the gaiter is extremely stretchy yet perfectly shaped to keep out sand and debris.

Lining - Inside, you'll find the famous "Gaerne Memory Cell Foam" - known for the most comfortable feel and fit ride after ride.

Heel Cup - The new heel cup is designed to absorb shock in the event of rear compression - it also serves as a nice place to display the new "G" logo!

Toe - This new design features a slimmer shape in the toe area for an improved feel of the shift lever and bike controls. The entire area is wrapped in a new plastic material that is lighter and offers more comfort and feel for the bike.

Toe Cap - The new shape of the toe cap has been redesigned and reinforced for a more robust look.

Sole - The SG-12 features a new design. This sole is new in appearance, but still uses Gaerne's "Dual Composite" shock-absorbing rubber that has made Gaerne soles famous worldwide.

Insole - Inside the boot, you'll find a completely new footbed that has been specially molded to properly support the foot. A new shock-absorbent material has been used in the rear section of the footbed. And the construction in the front section has been designed to allow for foot ventilation.
