Grip and Control
Instinct boots feature ULTRATAC rubber on the sole, the side of the foot, the ankle, and the burn guard, allowing you to stay virtually glued to the bike while you ride. Exclusive to Fox, this rubber compound offers the best grip on the market. Complementing this superior grip, the slim, flat medial design (the inner side of the boot) increases surface area to keep you in close contact with the bike and further enhance your connection.
Fit and Comfort

With half-sizes now available in the most common ranges (9.5, 10.5, and 11.5), Instinct boots offer improved comfort and a more precise fit. By focusing specifically on the new and improved "last"—the foot-shaped mold that determines how a boot fits your foot—comfort is ensured right out of the box. This same last is used across our entire boot lineup, creating unified sizing and a consistent fit. If you wear a size 9 Instinct, that will be your size across the entire "reboot" range: Instinct, Motion, and Comp. Protection

In terms of protection, Instinct boots incorporate TPU—a hard plastic material—in strategic locations to provide comprehensive coverage where you need it most. These boots offer the highest level of protection among all Fox motocross boots, featuring virtually gap-free TPU coverage at the ankle, Achilles (including a metal insert), calf, shin, and toe. The patented hinge lock system at the ankle also halts movement before hyperextension occurs, helping to prevent injury.
Secure Closure

The buckle and closure system has also been updated for 2022. On the Instinct boots, this 4-buckle setup features a new, patented forged metal buckle system. This system ensures a durable, secure closure for a precise fit and includes extended-length levers for easy operation. The new ball-and-socket mechanism ensures mobility is never compromised, allowing for "float" as the boots flex and move while riding. This system allows for controlled forward and backward movement while providing lateral ankle support and reducing side-to-side motion while riding. Additional support is provided by the polyurethane in the boot tongue, which adds rigidity—especially useful when tackling pro-level obstacles like whoops, high-speed corners, and triple jumps. The sole is engineered to provide strategic rigidity exactly where it’s needed most, further optimizing feel, support, and mobility.
