Dual Stage Pivot System - This revolutionary new system is patented and exclusive to Gaerne and is sure to be a hit. The first pivot is connected to the "Razorback". This provides a rigid component that offers strong lateral support while a sliding plate keeps the upper in a stable and upright position.
The second pivot is fixed on a sliding slide that allows the rider's foot to feel natural while on the cleat in a shifting or breaking situation - However, it "sinks" and absorbs the shock in the case of an excessive jump or a jump in the case of unwanted compression.
Grip Guard - On the inside of the boot is the brand new "Grip Guard" rubber. You can feel the exceptional grip of the bike and provide heat resistant padding against the inside leg.
Front Plate / Shin Guard - This new thermoplastic shin guard is anatomically shaped for a perfect fit. By removing three screws, a rider can also widen the opening to accommodate a larger leg or brace.
Buckle System - The SG-12 uses four lightweight alloy buckles that attach to an adjustable strap. This is a "tried and true" system that provides the rider with "Easy in" and "Easy out" a fail-safe system. Keep it simple!
Gaiter - Made from a new Swiss breathable fabric called Acronos, the gaiter is extremely stretchy but has the perfect shape to keep sand and debris out.
Inner Lining - Inside you will find the famous "Gaerne memory cell foam" which is known for its cushy feel and riding comfort.
Heel Cup - The new Heel cup has been designed to absorb shock in the event of a rear compression - It also doubles as a nice place to show off the new "G" logo!!
Toe-Box - This new design features a slimmer shape in the toe area for a better feel of the shift lever and bike controls. The entire area is wrapped in a new plastic material that is lighter and more comfortable for the bike.
Toe Box - The new shape - the toe box has been redesigned and reinforced to offer a new "tougher" look.
Sole - For the SG-12 you will notice a new design. This sole is new in its appearance, but still uses Gaerne's "Dual Composite" shock absorbing rubber that has made Gaerne soles famous all over the world.
Insole - Inside the boot you will find a new foot bed that has been specially shaped to properly support the foot. In the rear of the foot bed, a new shock absorbing material has been used. And in the front part the construction was made to allow the foot to vent.
