Biography

In February 1984, a young entrepreneur, born and raised in that part of the country that would become famous throughout the world as the phenomenon of north-eastern Italy, opened her first motorcycle clothing corner: Valeri Sport in Montebelluna (TV).

In reality the story had begun a long time before and has the smell, or rather the perfume, of glue and tanned leather.

Vale (Valesca) was born into a typical industrious family from the upper Treviso area where her father first trained at the cutting school in Montebelluna (one of his classmates was Sante Mazzarolo who later founded ALPINESTARS) and then opened a company which is still active in the trekking footwear sector.

It is here that he learns the value of work, that he experiences a passion for artisanal skills, that he develops an interest in innovation and in the desire that this territory has to assert itself in the world.

But these are also the years of his youth and the call of "engines" is strong (these are the years in which Japanese motorcycles arrive and assert themselves), the journey and the desire for independence are fascinating sirens. And so he jumps on his first motorcycle, experiences the first trips, the asphalt, the wind in his hair - helmets were not used back then!! - and the passion is great and the point of arrival is actually a point of departure: in 1975 in Montebelluna he opens a dealership with a Kawasaki workshop and first in Moriwaki preparations, also dealing with the racing Bimotas, which he will run for about a decade.

It was in these formative years, it was because she was first and foremost a motorcyclist, or perhaps it was a fantastic intuition, or maybe thanks to some “sbraciolata” or as she calls them in her narrow Treviso dialect “...gero sempre piena de brose e pache” (...I was always full of abrasions and bruises) - that she understood how important specialized clothing is for a motorcyclist, and how important are those aspects that became, in the years to follow, the guidelines on which all the technological development of this type of clothing will be based: safety, comfort, design.

The step from one's personal safety to the safety of one's friends is very short: "if you love and know the motorbike you don't have customers but travelling companions, you have friends because it is with them that you have an affinity, and it is for them that you seek the best".

He starts going around the companies to bring home as much "stuff" as possible and so he begins to meet the Gazzola family (GAERNE), the Signori family (SIDI), the Mazzarollo family (ALPINESTARS) and he goes to Lino (DAINESE), and later it will be the Dalla Grana family (SPIDI) and the Bizzotto family (which first is CONDOR and then, thanks also to Vale's suggestions, becomes the international brand SPYKE) and all the others without forgetting anyone.

Without forgetting anyone, because this is Vale's true philosophy.

Just as each of us is different and somehow unique, so are companies and their products. Just as each motorcyclist has his or her own style and riding needs, so are companies and their products have characteristics that can privilege more the fit, or the comfort, or the technicality... and Vale's desire is to give each one the best, the most suitable, the most right product. It is with this spirit that in '90 Vale leaves the dealership and opens the first STORE VALERISPORT Specialized Clothing for Motorcyclists in Altivole (TV), a space and a geographical location that allows it to make the leap in quality by dealing with more and more brands until it has dozens in every segment and market range, realizing that Valeri Sport, to be successful and unique, must never be someone's showcase but everyone's showcase!

He also understands that the future of his company lies in differentiating itself from other stores also, or rather above all, in its approach and customer service: somewhat pompous terms, very much in use today but often abused and flaunted just to give themselves a boost, such as customer service, customer satisfaction, customer care are key concepts that, even if not expressed by big market-oriented words, are deeply rooted in his personality that actually reflects the DNA of this territory: work, dedication, research, development but above all joy in doing it.

Differentiate yourself also in your ability to be up-to-date, to pursue new projects, new technologies, to ensure that “Specialized” is not just a word but a way of being for you and your collaborators.

Differentiating yourself also by understanding that you need to cross provincial and regional borders and have at least national visibility: these are the years of considerable advertising investments on all the most important media in the sector, with budgets often higher than those invested by the same brands highlighted in its windows, which lead Valeri Sport to have a national clientele.

Today it almost seems obvious but back then there was no Internet, there was no virtual shop window, there was no online shop and it was not easy to make yourself known and appreciated if not with the printed paper and word of mouth!

Differentiating itself also by offering its customers the chance to “touch” its myths with their own hands: the first events with Frankie Chili and Aaron Slite, then icons of Superbike, remain memorable.

Twenty years of work, sacrifices and satisfactions pass: "...it was and is fun and I have never felt burdened by the efforts and sacrifices", but also with a project, a dream, in my heart and in the meantime her son Francesco grows up and today he supports her in the management of the business of what is now one of the most considered clothing centers in Europe.

In fact, in 2011 the MEGASTORE VALERISPORT opens in Cornuda (TV), a project that took 5 years between planning and construction, he starts the Valeri Sport online shop that reaches customers all over the world, from Sweden to Australia, from Brazil to South Africa, always applying the same philosophy... "the customer must be able to find everything!!!" Obviously what has been is already past and for those who are of racing breed what matters is always the next goal, the next limit and in Vale's mind there are still goals to reach and surpass because in the end what matters is the journey.

So if someone today - in 2019 - a year that celebrates 35 years of activity, asks her if she has achieved the goal, the answer is clear, and it is a big “NO”.

We still have many dreams in the drawer and this year we are fulfilling one of the most ambitious: the VALERI84 RIDERS DISTRICT was designed and built with the intent of being a real strategic center for motorcyclists. It is the first RIDERS DISTRICT in Italy, a place to concentrate all that energy that has always characterized our sector, and where a motorcyclist can dress technically or fashionably, meet with those who have the same passion, watch and comment live on the most beautiful races, and why not sip a drink.... in short, we are working on it and the opening is imminent.

This is not only a real expansion of the offer and of the exhibition area, consequent to the opening of a new sales point, but given the evolution of the market specialization, a division of tasks and of the relative reference markets.

The current MEGASTORE VALERISPORT will continue to focus on the RACING and TOURING and OFF-ROAD sectors, while the new VALERI84 RIDERS DISTRICT is dedicated to the entire SCRAMBLER, CUSTOM, CAFERACER, HERITAGE and VINTAGE world, where the offer for motorcyclists will not be exclusively concentrated on technical garments but will be expanded and completed by fashionable clothing in pure Bikers style!

Opening a chain of stores is not part of our philosophy and it is not part of my character: I would like to always be in every point of the store and in front of every customer and in any case, seeing what is happening to important chains in Germany or France, you have to be particularly careful in choosing your partners.

We like to think big, but not in a pharaonic way. The problem is not to open other stores - our central warehouse would be able to support more than one - but to find partners who think like us. We need to be able to export the same mentality, the same passion, the same respect for the motorcyclist.

The MEGASTORE VALERISPORT is large but it is family-run and if we were to think of opening something new it should have the same characteristics and with people who think like us”. “One thing that is certain in the very near future is that we will continue, indeed we will increase, the season of events and appointments with the Champions and with those companies at the forefront of technology (all constantly updated on our Facebook page) and in particular we will bring to the executive phase the design of a brand signed precisely by the experience accumulated over many years.

With the help of my son Francesco, with his enthusiasm and with the ability that young people have to see a little further or in any case in a different way, it will certainly be a fantastic path to follow. The market requires more and more "personal" products and accessories, needs that we perceive by experiencing the Motorcyclist first hand, if we want niche products and that perhaps the big brands for this reason leave out, but for us they become the way to satisfy needs, to make a "tailor-made suit".

In 2017 Valesca was awarded the honor of “Cavaliere del Lavoro” in recognition of the great work done and the numerous jobs that she has offered with great professionalism demonstrated in over 30 years of activity.

...there are still goals to reach and surpass because in the end what matters is the journey.
Have a good trip Motorcyclist!
