Born from over a decade of global innovation across the entire spectrum of motorsports and a project plan guided by the best minds in protection development, Alpinestars Helmet Development Department specialists have developed the most protective, comfortable, and lightweight motocross helmet. The S-M8 shell was designed with performance in mind, with a design that identifies the helmet's line and sculpted surface as unmistakably "Alpinestars."

- Composite fiber shell: unidirectional carbon composite with an aramid layer that provides significant radial strength around the shell, preventing compression but allowing controlled deflection to reduce transmitted impact energy and provide essential penetration protection. Energy is spread more widely and is better absorbed by the EPS liner for extremely effective impact protection.
- Performance on linear and oblique impacts far exceeds current helmet regulations.
- The helmet is produced with shells of different sizes depending on the proposed size, thus offering the perfect balance between helmet volume and rider size, maintaining the same level of protection and safety.
- Made of multi-density EPS polymers, the impact-absorbing layer creates an internal profile of the helmet that absorbs the impact forces dissipated by the outer shell and provides a shape that ensures a snug and comfortable fit.
- Equipped with a patented system to precisely calibrate the helmet to the rider's preferences in terms of height and angle on the head.
- Peak attached to the helmet shell with a patented system that allows for easy release in the event of a crash.
- Flared base to provide a relief section, with the lower profile raised to avoid contact with the collarbone.
- The chin guard is made of polypropylene, which, by allowing a certain angle of lateral flexion, further improves impact protection to the collarbone.
- Post-impact protective mechanisms with the Multi-Directional Impact Protection System: MIPS. Designed to reduce rotational energy impacting the helmet, which can cause the transmission of harmful rotational forces, by applying a slippery layer between the padding and the impact-absorbing multi-density polymer shell.
- Emergency Release System (ERS): The cheek padding can be quickly and safely removed, while the helmet is still on the rider's head, to facilitate helmet removal by medical and support personnel.
- Designed to allow for the insertion of an 'Eject' inflation system in the crown area of the shell, allowing for emergency helmet removal without placing pressure on the spine.
- Chin Strap: Wider than required by certification (26mm) for greater comfort, made of polymer fabric for greater softness and greater security on the double D-ring.
- Weight: 1300g for size Medium (ECE).
- Excellent ventilation system that ensures precise flow in the helmet over and around the rider's head, improving comfort and reducing heat stress in extreme conditions. The visor design and interior structure are also integral to the ventilation system, designed to channel air and concentrate its flow within the shell.
- Removable and washable interior made of antibacterial Cool-Max for long-lasting freshness and quick drying between track sessions.
