Developed specifically for road racing, track use, and high-performance street riding, the FIM-approved Tech-Air® 7x is derived from Alpinestars' proven MotoGP airbag technology.

The fully self-contained, self-contained motorcycle airbag system is designed for racing and offers riders aerodynamic, low-profile, and highly ventilated Tech-Air® protection. Developed for sport/recreational motorcycling, the Tech-Air® 7x offers riders complete upper body protection, covering the shoulders, chest, and entire back. The integrated back protector is extended in length for additional coccyx protection. Tech-Air® 7x can be used as a stand-alone system or as an integrated system within a compatible suit or jacket. The system is designed for closed-course racing, as well as road and light off-road riding.

The innovative wearable Tech-Air® 7x Airbag system features an active electronic system with twelve integrated sensors: three triaxial accelerometers (one located on the back protector and two on the shoulders) and one triaxial gyroscope (located inside the back protector). These sensors monitor the rider's body for any impacts or unexpected movements. Developed through years of research in collaboration with over 50% of the world's top MotoGP riders and Alpinestars customers who ride with Tech-Air® systems, our team has analyzed riding data from millions of kilometers and thousands of crashes to continuously improve the system's intelligent crash detection algorithms. Once a crash situation is identified, which occurs when the rider's body is subjected to a high and/or sudden amount of energy, the algorithm will trigger the deployment of the protective airbag, providing unparalleled protection to the rider or passenger wearing the system (with a maximum inflation time of 44 ms, depending on the airbag volume). The impact absorption of the airbag when inflated results in a reduction in impact force of up to 90% compared to a CE Level 1 passive protector.

TECH-AIR® 7X RIDING MODES: RACE AND STREET
The Tech-Air® 7x system is preloaded with two different riding modes: RACE mode for riding on closed-course circuits and STREET mode for on-road and light off-road riding. Users can easily switch between Race and Street modes simply by using the Tech-Air® app. The system should always be used in Street mode when riding on public roads and NOT on a closed-course track. Riders should always remember to switch from Race to Street mode upon arriving at and leaving the track to ensure full protection, even when stopped at traffic lights, intersections, or for any reason. Airbag protection when stopped is provided by the Street Mode algorithm only.

The Tech-Air® 7x is compatible with all FIM Grand Prix airbag system requirements, making it suitable for road racing competitions.
The Tech-Air® 7x features the latest evolution of Alpinestars Tech-Air® technology, including a more compact and comprehensive active electronic system featuring 12 sensors.
There are four triaxial sensors: one triaxial accelerometer and one triaxial gyroscope located on the main ECU, and two additional triaxial accelerometers located on the shoulders. These sensors were specifically developed for track and high-performance riding. These combine with the Tech-Air® algorithm to precisely monitor when to deploy the airbag in the event of a crash. When a crash situation is detected, a protective airbag is activated, providing the rider with unparalleled protection with a maximum inflation time of 44 ms depending on the airbag size.
The airbag has been fully certified for up to 4 airbag deployments before it must be replaced, provided the airbag was not damaged in one of the first 3 deployments.
This airbag system is certified as Category II PPE (personal protective equipment) pursuant to European Regulation (EU) 2016/425.
